Another solution is the factory manual in which the first chapter parallels the owners manual.you can get it from a dealer or online at www.repairmanual.com/ US$ 49.95 covers 86-88, and 95-2002 models. this is much less than I paid for a deao get it for me 3 years ago. I've ordered Yamaha M/C manuals from them and they have delivered. Also say the have parts available from this site. Do enjoy owning your "thumper". Max
